Inspections the HMT Way

Keeping industrial assets safe and within compliance is critical to our clients’ success. That’s why our commitment to inspection excellence has made us a trusted name in the industry for over 30 years. Explore our offerings here or read more about our exceptional approach to inspections below.

Inspector Training and Certification

Doing inspections the HMT way means ensuring our inspectors have all the skills they need to evaluate your tanks safely and accurately. To achieve this, we train every inspector in-house using an intensive curriculum led by Level 3 ASNT-certified instructors. These training programs combine comprehensive classroom instruction with extensive, hands-on field exercises and testing to achieve the highest level of inspection expertise. By the time our technicians reach the field, they thoroughly understand each inspection method and its real-world application. Many hold multiple API certifications, including: 653, 570, 580, and 510. Our training programs cover all NDE methods and comply with ASNT* standards.

Customizable Inspection Reports

Our detailed inspection reports set us apart in the industry, providing you with keen insight into the condition of every asset and component we evaluate. Every report includes scans, photographs, measurements, instrument readings, leak and emissions tests results, inspector observations, and clear recommendations for repair or replacement. With our inspectors combined extensive field experience with advanced engineering analysis and technical writing, you get highly accurate reports backed by expert-level insights.

In-House Engineering and Lab Testing

HMT doesn’t outsource their engineering and lab testing like most companies. We provide these services in-house to ensure every part meets our world-class qualifications. As an added benefit, our clients enjoy reduced wait times and lower costs to receive superior, custom reports.

Meeting ESG and Compliance

Many in the petrochemical industry have made commitments to ESG policies. At HMT, we honor that commitment by designing every product and service to meet our clients’ goals under the guidance of HMT’s Director of Sustainability. Additionally, our Director of Sustainability is active on the API Standards Committee, keeping us on the forefront of legislative policies that impact our industry. As a result, we can draw up a personalized maintenance plan to ensure your tanks operate in compliance with state and federal regulations.
