Gauge Pole
Float and Sleeve
EPA Regulations are now requiring that
slotted gauge/guide poles be provided with an emissions
control system including a float and sleeve. HMT's
Gauge Pole Float and Sleeve are designed to
significantly reduce hydrocarbon emissions from slotted
gauge/guide poles utilized on external floating roof
storage.
HMT's Gauge Pole Float features a new "low-profile",
stainless steel construction and 27 mil. PetrolamŽ PTFE
(TeflonŽ) wiper. The float is designed to operate
in products having specific gravities ranging from 0.60
to 1.00. It effectively "seals off" the gauge pole,
preventing vapors from escaping into the atmosphere.
The HMT Gauge Pole Sleeve and Float is
designed to prevent vapors from escaping through the
slotted gauge pole from the gauge well.
The Sleeve, constructed of stainless
steel and containing a 25 mil Petroflex PTFE (Teflon)
liner, is attached to the existing gauge well slide
plate. The stainless steel float contains a single
PTFE (Teflon) wiper and stainless steel chain, seals off
vapor emission from inside the pipe.
The 25 mil PTFE liner provides excellent
chemical and abrasion resistance, effectively closes the
slots in the gauge well.
